The Yubari is a Japanese light cruiser.
The Yubari is a unique light cruiser with no sister ships of its kind. She was built in the early 1920s as a testbed for new technologies and construction designs, and greatly influenced subsequent Japanese warship development. Emphasis was laid on speed with highest possible armament. With a maximum speed of 35,5 kn she was as fast as a destroyer. The Yubari served in the Second Sino-Japanese War and also in WW2, where she took part in many fleet operations, especially in the support of troop landings. She was sunk eventually by a submarine torpedo in April 1944.
In Battlegroup42, the Yubari carries a total of six 140mm guns on its four turrets, giving it a respectable firepower. However, it is susceptible to air attacks as it only has a twin 25mm Type 96 anti-aircraft guns for air defense.
