The Walther P.38 is a German pistol.

DescriptionEdit

The Walther P.38 was the standard sidearm of the German army from 1938 on and was produced in large numbers during World War 2. It has been developed to replace the excellent but expensive Luger Pistol 08 with a cheaper weapon which was also better suited for combat conditions. It uses the same 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge as its predecessor and proved to be a simple, reliable and accurate weapon. As a unique feature at the time of its introduction, the pistol could be carried safely even when pre-loaded and thus ready to fire: The trigger weight indicates the user, if a round is pre-loaded in the chamber. The Walther P.38 and its derivates were used by many other armies and also produced in foreign license. Some of them are in service up to recent times.

In Battlegroup42, the Walther P.38 is the sidearm of all scout, assault, anti-tank, rifleman and machinegunner classes of the German forces.
