Type 96 25mm anti-aircraft gun is an Allied anti-aircraft gun of Swedish origin.

DescriptionEdit

The Type 96 was a Japanese licensed version of the French 25mm Hotchkiss anti-aircraft gun. It was primarily deployed as an anti-aircraft gun for naval vessels and became the most common small caliber gun of the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was used in single, double and even triple mounts. As with many other naval weapons, the Japanese used the gun also on land for the defense of islands and installations like naval bases and airfields.

In Battlegroup42 the Type 96 is available as a single and twin mount system. In twin mount, the two guns can be fired independent of the other, allowing simultaneous firing or high rate of fire depending on the user's needs. It can also be used against lightly armoured ground vehicles when necessary, making it a versatile weapon.
