The Type 3 anti-tank grenade used minimal metal and a simplistic design to offset the material shortages and deteriorating munition manufacturing capabilities Japan continuously faced throughout the war. It was comprised of a metal cone for hollow charge filled with explosive mixtures and wrapped in a cloth bag.
