The Supermarine Spitfire is a British fighter.

DescriptionEdit

The Supermarine Spitfire is the most well known and the most produced British fighter. It was continuously produced and improved throughout the war, and succeeded the Hawker Hurricane as the backbone of the Royal Air Force Fighter Command after the Battle of Britain.

There are four versions of the Spitfire in Battlegroup42, with most of them acting as pure fighters. The Mk I is armed with eight 0.303 Browning machine guns. The Mk VB is armed with four 0.303 Browning machine guns and two 20mm Hispano cannons. The Mk IX is a fighter-bomber armed with two 0.50 Browning machine guns, two Hispano cannons, and rockets, whereas the Mk XIV is armed with two 0.50 Browning machine guns and four Hispano cannons.

TriviaEdit

The model for Spitfire Mk I is modified from the original Battlefield 1942's Spitfire model.
