Sturmhaubitze 42 is a German self-propelled artillery.

The Sturmhaubitze 42, or StuH 42 in short, is a variant of Sturmgeschütz III armed with a 105mm howitzer for its main armament. With the explosive shells, it is intended to be used against enemy infantry and strongpoints in direct fire, but it can take the role of indirect fire as a self-propelled artillery. While it can also take on some armoured vehicles to direct engagements, the howitzer has a slow firing rate and the vehicle should be supported by other units for such engagements. For self-defense the vehicle is armed with one MG 34 to fend off enemy infantry in close proximity.

As it applies to most self-propelled artillery in Battlegroup42, the StuH 42 appears in Co-op and Singleplayer modes with different coding in order to make it usable by bots. Though it is very similar in appearance to the StuG III G, it can be clearly distinguished from that by its shorter and thicker gun barrel.

It is available from late 1942 onwards.
