|Solothurn S-18/1000 (handheld)|
The Solothurn S-18/1000 is an anti-tank rifle of Swiss origin.
The Solothurn S-18/1000 was a variant of the Solothurn S-18/100. It featured a larger cartridge and offered higher muzzle velocity for better armour penetration, but this also contributed to even greater recoil and bulkier size for the user. Its firepower was adequate against light tanks and other soft-skinned vehicles when it was first introduced, but it was insufficient to deal with newer and heavier tanks by the time World War II broke out.
In Battlegroup42 the Solothurn S-18/1000 is the primary weapon for the Dutch and Italian anti-tank class in the early part of the war. It is also available as a stationary weapon as well as a mounted weapon on some vehicles.
