The Shitotsu Bakurai is a Japanese suicide anti-tank device.

Description[]

The Shitotsu Bakurai, which roughly translates to "piercing charge" (刺突爆雷), consisted of a large conical hollow charge warhead attached to an end of a long wooden stick, hence the nickname "lunge mine" as coined by the American forces. The insufficiency of Japanese infantry's anti-tank capability was highlighted even before World War II, and the problem became increasingly evident throughout the war. The Shitotsu Bakurai was one of the improvised anti-tank weapons developed in the latter days of the war, which would require an infantryman to charge towards an enemy tank and thrust the warhead against a weakspot to ensure a kill. As the weapon's design offered no protection for the user, the Shitotsu Bakurai was essentially a suicide weapon.

In Battlegroup42, the Shitotsu Bakurai is available as a pickup kit on the conquest mode of Iwo Jima. To use the weapon, the player needs to switch to weapon slot 1 and "stab" the target vehicle (default right-click), similar to how one would use a bayonet in-game. Note that the resulting explosion would end in the player's death.
