Ordnance QF 25-pounder is a British field gun.

Description[]

The QF 25-pdr is one of the most famous field artillery pieces ever being in service with the British and Commonwealth armies. It was the main field gun of the British Commonwealth during the whole World War 2 and was praised by its crews as an accurate and versatile weapon. One of its features was a circular platform under the carriage, which can be lowered to the ground. This provided a very stable stand and allowed the gunners to traverse the gun quickly in any direction. In direct fire mode, the QF 25-pdr could also be used as an anti-tank gun with special armor piercing rounds. It served on every theater of war, where Commonwealth troops were involved and was in stock even for many years after the war, in some Armies until today. The QF 25-pounder was also used as a self-propelled gun on vehicles such like the Bishop and the Sexton.

In BattleGroup42, the Ordnance QF 25-pounder appears in two variants: as a single gun and as a battery of three alternatly firing guns. Both variants are fixed to their positions. While the single variant can fully rotate like a gun turret, the battery variant can only traverse several degrees to the left and right.

Trivia[]

The model is based on the QF 25 pdr from Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome.
