The MG 30 is a machine gun of Swiss and Austrian origin.
The Maschinengewehr 30 is the predecessor of the more well known MG 34 and MG 42 machine guns. The development and production of the machine gun were carried out in Switzerland and Austria due to the various arms restrictions imposed on Germany at the time as a result of the Treaty of Versailles. Although the MG 30 was not adopted by Germany, it was used by Austria and Hungary, and its design became the basis for Germany's future machine guns. The gun also became the basis for the aircraft machine guns MG 15 and MG 17.
In Battlegroup42 the MG 30 can be found as a pickup kit for the Hungarian forces. It is currently available in 4409-Dukla Pass.
