The Lavochkin La-5FN is a Soviet fighter.
The La-5FN is the most powerful variant of the La-5 fighter series, which was developed from the LaGG-3, a stop-gap solution form the early days of the war to replace the high losses of the Soviet air force during the German invasion. Equipped with two 20mm ShVAK cannons and much appreciated by its pilots, it is regarded as one of the best fighters of its time, equal or even superior to the BF109 and FW190 in some terms, especially at low altitude. The La-5FN became available just in time of the German Kursk offensive and helped the Soviet air force to get back the initiative in the skies.
In Battlegroup42, it appears in scenarios set after mid-1943, such as 4307-Operation Citadel.
