The LVT(A)-1 is an American amphibious fire support.
Dubbed "Amtank" (a portmanteaus of "amphibious tank"), the LVT(A)-1 is a fire support variant of the LVT-2 Water Buffalo. Its role is to accompany landing troops during a beach assault, and to provide close fire support for them.
Its 37 mm Gun M3 gun can be a match with the Japanese tanks. The hull and rear-mounted M1919 Browning machine guns provide all range cover against enemy infantry.
