Grumman F4F Wildcat is an American fighter and fighter-bomber.

DescriptionEdit

The Wildcat was the main naval fighter for the American forces in the early part of the war, especially in the Pacific theatre. Although it was later succeeded by the similar looking Grumman F6F Hellcat, the Wildcat continued to be serve on Allied escort carriers for the remainder of the war.

The fighter-bomber variant F4F-3 and its British counterpart Martlet III are armed with four M2 Browning machine guns and two AN-M57 bombs beneath the wings. The F4F-4 and Martlet IV are pure fighters mounted with six M2 Browning machine guns.

TriviaEdit

There was a Grumman F4F-3S Wildcatfish seaplane variant in the mod. It is replaced by Grumman J2F-2 Duck and is now a discontinued content.
