Free France is one of the Allies of World War Two.
With the Armistice of 22 June 1940, France and its overseas territories were split into those who sided with the Axis power, and those who continue to side with the Allies; they became Vichy France and Free France respectively. Despite losing their homeland, the Free French forces fought side by side with the British and American forces in many frontiers for the eventual liberation of their own country.
