Tiger I is a German heavy tank.
Description[]
The Tiger was the first German tank to be equipped with the 8.8 cm KwK 36 gun, and as a heavy tank it was a departure from earlier German tank designs, which balanced mobility, armour, and firepower. The Tiger put a much greater emphasis on firepower and armour, making it capable to face most tanks toe-to-toe and, despite the advent of newer designs, remained a potent tank throughout the rest of the war. Few variants existed, most notably the Sturmpanzer VI heavy assault gun.
BattleGroup42 features both the early and late production versions of Tiger I, which can be visually distinguished by the differences in the cupola, road wheels, as well as the absence of Feifel filters in the later versions. Both versions have a powerful 88mm as their main armament, as well as an MG 34 in the coaxial mount and at the bow. The late production version also features an additional machine gun on top of the commander's cupola, but otherwise the two versions perform the same in the mod.
It first appears from late 1942, and subsequently in all theatres of war where Germany took part in the war. It also appears in some maps as part of or in aid for other Axis nations, namely Italy and Hungary.

- There are two maps in the mod that are named after the Tiger: 4212-Tigers at Tebourba and 4402-When the Tigers Broke Free.
