Description[]
The T-20, also known by the name Komsomolets, was designed to be a small prime mover for light artillery and anti-tank guns that could keep up with armoured columns. However, when Germany invaded Russia in Operation Barbarossa, necessities in the early stages of the war made it see use in other roles, including troop transport and even tankettes in combat. One notable variant was the ZiS-30, an improvised tank destroyer with a 57mm gun mounted directly on the vehicle.
In BattleGroup42, the T-20 functions as a simple personnel carrier, with one driver seated inside, and four passengers on its exposed rear deck. The driver has access to a DT machine gun at the front for self-defence, and while the vehicle can be used in combat as a tankette, the T-20 is best used as a support vehicle to provide troop transport, as well as first aid and ammo to its passengers. Like all troop transports in the mod, the T-20 can repair friendly vehicles, heal friendly soldiers and provide ammunition in the vicinity.
It can be found in many Eastern Front maps during the first half of the war, such as 4106-Battle of Brody and 4204-Valley of Death. It is also used by Germany with markings of the Finnish Armoured Division in 4407-Battle of Ihantala.
