For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Fairey Swordfish.

The Fairey Swordfish is a British biplane naval bomber.

Description[]

First entered service in 1936, the Fairey Swordfish was already perceived to be outdated by the outbreak of World War II. This did not deter the shipborne aircraft from achieving successes, as it had shown in Battle of Taranto against the Italian navy, as well as its contribution to the sinking of German battleship Bismarck. The replacements like the Fairey Albacore are already available, the sturdy Swordfish remained in front line service until the end of the war.

The Swordfish can be found in two different payload configurations in Battlegroup42: six bombs or four depth charges. It is also equipped with a forward firing Vickers machine gun for the pilot and a rearward firing Vickers K machine gun for the rear gunner.
