The Supermarine Spitfire is a British fighter.

The Supermarine Spitfire is the most well known and the most produced British fighter. It was continuously produced and improved throughout the war, and succeeded the Hawker Hurricane as the backbone of the Royal Air Force Fighter Command after the Battle of Britain.
There are four versions of the Spitfire in BattleGroup42, with most of them acting as pure fighters. The Mk I is armed with eight Browning 0.303 machine guns. The Mk VB is armed with four 0.303 Browning machine guns and two 20mm Hispano cannons. The Mk IX is a fighter-bomber armed with two 0.50 Browning machine guns, two Hispano cannons, and rockets, whereas the Mk XIV is armed with two 0.50 Browning machine guns and four Hispano cannons.
Trivia[]
- The previous Spitfire models are a modified version from the original Battlefield 1942's counterpart. It was later replaced started in FINAL Release Candidate 1.
- The Spitfire models were made by Clive Williams (aka clivewil) for the Battlefield 2 mod Allied Intent Xtended, and is ported to BattleGroup42 mod with the modeller's permission.
