Sdkfz 251/1 is an German armoured personnel carrier.
Description[]
Commonly referred to as Hanomag, a company known for producing steam locomotive and automobiles, the Sdkfz 251 was one of the most common German armoured troop carriers in World War II.
The Sdkfz 251 has space for a driver and five passengers, of which two of them have access to machine guns mounted at the front and the back of the vehicle. Early versions are equipped with MG 34 until 1942, where MG 42 becomes available. The driver can also deploy a tripod mounted MG 34 or MG 42 machine gun on the ground for troops to use immediately.
There are several variants available for the Hanomag: the Sdkfz 251/2 mortar carrier, Sdkfz 251/9 Stummel, Sdkfz 251/10 fire support vehicle, and Sdkfz 251/1 II Stuka zu Fuss.
