The GAZ-MM was a modernised variant of the GAZ-AA truck, which itself was based on the Ford Model AA truck, but with the engine from the GAZ-M1 car. As a variant of the most common Soviet truck, it served throughout World War II in various supportive roles, ranging from troop transport to improvised self-propelled anti-aircraft truck.
The GAZ-MM in BattleGroup42 is an ambulance variant, which has space for one driver and one passenger. It can provide first aid and ammunition supply to its passengers and nearby soldiers. As the GAZ-MM is unarmoured just like most trucks, care must be taken not to engage directly with enemy forces when travelling in one.
