Renault FT-17 is a French light tank.
Description[]
One of the most revolutionary and influential tank designs in history. The FT-17 was the first production tank to have its armament within a fully rotating turret. As a result of its successful design, it was still fielded by many nations by the outbreak of World War II.
There are two versions of the FT-17 in Battlegroup42, which differ by the armament. The char canon version is armed with a 37mm Puteaux SA 18 gun, which is used to combat light armoured vehicles, whereas the char mitrailleuse version is armed with a 8mm Hotchkiss machine gun, which should be used against enemy infantry. The tanks should be assisted by each other to cover their own weaknesses or be deployed in support of other friendly units.
Some captured vehicles have been evaluated and used by the Germans after 1940.
