For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Ostwind.

Flakpanzer IV Ostwind is a German anti-aircraft tank.

Description[]

A successor to the Wirbelwind, the Ostwind is an anti-aircraft tank based on the Panzer IV chassis. Its main armament is the 37mm FlaK 43. While slow firing, it is powerful against enemy aircraft, and is also somewhat useful against light vehicles and infantry. However, the first position is open top, hence it is vulnerable to small arms fire from above.

The Flakpanzer has one MG 34 mounted at the front of the hull for anti-infantry defense.

The Ostwind appears from Spring 1944 onwards in European theatre.

Trivia[]

The Ostwind's model is based on the original Battlefield 1942's Panzer IV.
