8.8cm FlaK 36 is a German anti-tank gun.

Description[]

Often referred by the troops as the "eighty-eight" or "acht-acht", the FlaK 36 is one of the most recognised German weapons in World War 2. Originally developed as an anti-aircraft gun, the FlaK 36 also proved to be a formidable anti-tank weapon, especially on wide open fields, where it had the advance of its superior firing range. No wonder the Germans used it to counter heavy armored enemy tanks in the russian plains as well as in the deserts of North Africa. Feared by the enemy, the Flak 36 stayed to be a versatile and important dual purpose weapon for the German defense through the whole war.

Its firepower and versatility allows the weapon to be used throughout the war, and is also the basis for the KwK 36 tank gun, the main armament for the famous Tiger I.
