For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Universal Carrier.

Universal Carrier is a British armoured personnel carrier.

Description[]

The Universal Carrier (also known as the Bren Gun Carrier) is the standard armoured personnel carrier used by United Kingdom, as well as the Commonwealth such as Australia and Canada. It serves throughout the war, meaning they can be found in many maps involving the said countries. The Free French and the Greeks also has access to them.

Like all troop transport in the mod, the Universal Carrier can heal passengers and provide them with ammunition supply, as well as repair friendly vehicles in the vicinity. The only exception to this is the Australian 2-pounder Carrier.

There are a total of four variants for the vehicle. With the exception of the ambulance variant, all Universal Carriers has a total of five positions, of which two of the positions have mounted weapons available for crew to use for self-defense.

Bren Gun Carrier[]

Standard troop transport and utility version of the Universal Carrier. Both the second and third positions have Bren gun mounted on them.

Boys Gun Carrier[]

This is a common variant of the Universal Carrier. A Boys anti-tank rifle is in the second position for fire support and anti-armor measures.

Dutch Universal Carrier[]

Like the Greek, the Dutch didn't use Universal Carriers, but had a number of Carden Loyd tankettes in service - a model which is not available in BattleGroup42. Although not historically accurate, the team decided to use the Universal Carrier instead. For the Dutch army, the Boys anti-tank rifle and the Bren gun have been swapped out for a Solothurn S-18/1000 anti-tank rifle and a Schwarzlose M.08 machine gun respectively.

Ambulance[]

A ambulance variant can be found in maps such as Battle of Britain and 4406-Villers Bocage. A canvas is erected in the rear compartment for stretchers, reducing the total number of positions to two. The Greeks also has access to them in 4105-Operation Mercury.
