Crusader I is a British tank.

Description[]

The Crusader was the next tank in the cruiser tank series to see combat after its direct predecessor, the Cruiser Mk IV. It featured better speed and armour while retaining the main armament.

The Crusader I's Ordnance QF 2-pounder gun is adequate against light tanks and soft-skinned vehicles, but not so much against more heavily armoured German medium tanks. For anti-infantry measures the tank is equipped with two Besa machine guns: one in the coaxial mount next to the main gun, and one in the auxiliary turret. As with other cruiser tanks the Crusader has relatively weak armour, however, therefore it should use its mobility to its advantage in armoured engagement.

It appears in the North African theatre from mid-1941 onward.
