Comet I is a British tank.
Description[]
Developed as the successor of the Cromwell tank in the cruiser tank series, the A34 Comet I was better armed and armoured than its predecessors. The 77 mm HV, which is a variation of the Ordnance QF 17-pounder anti-tank gun, is a weapon to be reckoned against German armour.
For anti-infantry measures, it has two Besa machine guns: one in the coaxial mount, and one in the hull.
The Comet I appears in the European theatre from December 1944 onwards.
