For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Char B1.

Char B1 bis is a French heavy tank.

Description[]

Protected by a 60mm frontal armour, the Char B1 bis is heavily armoured. Its 47mm SA 35 gun in the APX4 turret gives the tank an anti-tank capacity adequate for the time, while its 8mm Hotchkiss M1914 machine gun in the coaxial mount can fend off enemy infantry.

The Char also has a 75mm ABS SA 35 howitzer mounted on the front to the right side of the hull, which can be controlled in the second position. The gun has large firepower, but has very limited traversable range. Therefore coordination with the driver is important to bring out its full potential.

It can be found in scenarios set before June 1940, such as 4005-Hannut Steel, 4005-Stonne, 4005-The Weygand Plan, and 4006-Ligne Alpine.

Some captured vehicles have been evaluated and used by the Germans afterwards. Examples can be found on 4312-Commandos and 4504-Mouse Roars.

Incidentally, the Free French recaptured some of the tanks from the Germans, and used them in 4504-Royan Outskirts.

Trivia[]

In reality, the secondary armament was two 7.5mm Reibel machine guns on coaxial mount and the other was fixed at the right side of the 75mm howitzer.
