Douglas SBD Dauntless is an American dive bomber
Description[]
The SBD Dauntless serves the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps as the main naval dive bomber throughout the war. Its main armament is the three 250lb AN-M57 bombs mounted below the wings and the fuselage. It is also armed with two forward-firing M2 Browning machine guns for the pilot and two M1919 Browning machine guns for the rear gunner. While the aircraft is capable of dogfighting to a certain extent, it is generally inadvisable to engage enemy fighters.
The SBD can be found on Pacific maps set in 1941 and onwards. The land-based version is also available in the form of A-24 Banshee, which can be found on maps such as 4408-Race to Lyon and 4504-Royan Outskirts.
