Operation Shingle is a map set around the Italian town of Nettuno. It is fought between United States and Germany.
Description[]
The Americans begin the assault off the coast with a British King George V-class battleship and a Landing Craft Tank. The Germans on the other hand have five control points to defend.
Whichever side holds all five control points will inflict a ticket bleed to the other side. The Hinterhof control point does not offer spawn point for either side.
Fighting is mainly carried out by infantry. The Americans have deep wading Sherman tanks available from landing craft, as well as powerful naval support from the battleship. The defending force has urban area for cover, as well as the two 15cm sFH 18 howitzers in the town that can be used to bombard one side of the landing beach.
Trivia[]
- Prior to its removal in Release Candidate 2, there was a derivative of the same map called 4401-Operation Shingle Small, which featured one fewer control point and a smaller pool of vehicles available for players to operate.
