For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Tokyo Express.

Tokyo Express is a map set around the island of Guadalcanal. It is a naval skirmish fought between United States and Japan.

Description[]

There are four control points: one under the Americans, one under the Japanese, and two are neutral. All control points do not offer spawn points for either side.

The Americans have a fleet in the south-east, which consist of a Pensacola-class cruiser, a Tribal-class destroyer, a Wickes-class high-speed transport, and a freighter. They also have access to a base at the centre of the main island, as well as patrol boats.

The Japanese begin with a fleet in the north-west, which consist of a Furutaka-class cruiser, destroyer Isokaze, light cruiser Yubari, and two freighters. They also have access to an airstrip at the north-west tip of the main island, as well as a Type B1 submarine in the north-east.

Whichever side holds three or more control points will incur a ticket bleed to the other side.

Naval warfare is the main theme on this map, as ships are required not only for combat, but also for capturing control points. Both sides also have a very small number of aircraft for anti-shipping activity. However, the Americans also have a number of artillery guns near the centre, which can threaten the Japanese ships.

Trivia[]

  • The map is modified from 4209-Bloody Ridge, but with a focus on naval warfare instead.
