The Schnellboot is a German torpedo boat.

Description[]

Referred to as "E-boat" in Allied designations, the Schnellboot or S-boot was a large, fast, and seaworthy torpedo boat in World War II. Such ships saw extensive actions not only in the English Channel, but also in the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea, costing heavy damage to Allied merchant ships as well as some warships, with the sinking of two landing ships in exercise near Lyme Bay being one of the most notorious attacks.

The Schnellboot in BattleGroup42 represents an early production model, in contrast to later models that feature a raised forecastle and integrated torpedo tubes. It is equipped with two torpedo tubes at the bow, MG 81 machine guns between the torpedo tubes, and an automatic 20mm C/30 gun towards the rear. There are two variants of the boat's armament at the stern: one with mines against surface ships, another with depth charges for anti-submarine warfare. When destroyed, a small two-seater raft spawns in its place for the crew to escape.

It can be found in maps such as 4204-Channel Patrol and 4207-Intruder Mission.
