For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Dido-class cruiser.

The Dido-class cruiser is a British light cruiser.

Description[]

Between 1940 and 1944 the Royal Navy commissioned a series of 16 light cruisers intended mainly for anti-air and anti-submarine cover of convoys and fleet operations: ten ships of Dido-class and six of the very similar Bellona subclass. The ships were fast and boasted a total of ten dual purpose QF 5.25-inch (133mm) guns in five twin turrets. There were also a number of machine guns and cannons available to provide anti-air defence at close range. Both the Didos and the Bellonas saw extensive action around the world, especially in the Mediterranean Sea and in the Pacific. Five have been sunk over the course of war, two of them by German submarines.

In addition to the 133mm guns, the Dido-class in BattleGroup42 is also fitted with torpedo tubes and depth charges for surface targets and submarines respectively, as well as quad Bofors L/60 40mm guns for anti-aircraft defense. However, it is still vulnerable to high calibre munitions from larger warships and submarines.

The Dido-class cruiser can be found on 4205-Operation Ironclad and 4306-Operation Corkscrew.
