For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Boulton Paul Defiant.

The Boulton Paul Defiant is a British fighter.

Description[]

The Defiant is unusual in its design compared with other fighter aircraft; it has no forward armament for the pilot, but instead the second crewman controls a dorsal turret mounted with four Browning machine guns. After some success early in the war, when the Defiants caught enemy fighter pilots by surprise, losses climbed rapidly. It became obvious, that the Defiant was not fast and agile enough for a dogfight, with the turret being no compensation. But a "turret fighter" could of course pose a dangerous threat to slow moving or less maneuverable hostile aircraft, which could be attacked from the side or below. This lead the Defiants to a successful second life as night fighters. In the dark and equiped with radar they have an advantage even against more agile fighters.

The Defiant can be found in 4005-Battle of Arras, 4006-Dunkirk Perimeter, Battle of Britain, 4204-Channel Patrol, and 4207-Intruder Mission.
