17pdr SP Achilles is a British tank destroyer.
Description[]
As the 3-inch M7 tank gun was becoming less potent against the newer German tanks, the British decided to upgrade their M10 with the Ordnance QF 17-pounder anti-tank gun, resulting in the 17pdr SP Achilles.
The up-gunned tank destroyer is a force to be reckoned with, even in BattleGroup42; the 17-pounder is capable of defeating most tanks. However, just like its predecessor, the vehicle is lightly armoured, therefore it should support other tanks in an armoured engagement or participate in ambushes instead of engaging enemies head-on. For self-defense against infantry, the Achilles has a rearward facing M2 Browning machine gun located at the back of the gun turret
The Achilles appears in maps set in mid-1943 and thereafter.
