15cm sFH 18 is a German heavy howitzer.
The sFH 18 is one of Germany's three main 150mm calibre weapons, and it is one of the basic German division-level heavy howitzer throughout the war, with 7000 build from 1935 on. Although it was generally outdated compared to the weapons it faced from 1941 on, it has the merit being the first artillery weapon equipped with rocket-assisted ammunition. This was intended to increase range for counter battery fire, since similar enemy weapons, especially the Soviet Union's 152mm howitzer-gun M1937 (ML-20), had a much larger range. China also purchased a small number of these howitzers and deployed them against the Japanese.
